Resume Tips
Craft a resume that gets noticed. Learn what recruiters look for and how to make every word count.
Tailor Your Resume for Each Job
A generic resume rarely works. Read the job description carefully and mirror the keywords and skills they mention. Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) filter resumes before a human ever sees them.
Keep It to One or Two Pages
Recruiters spend an average of 7 seconds on a resume. Keep it concise — one page for under 5 years of experience, two pages maximum for senior roles.
Quantify Your Achievements
Instead of "managed a team", write "managed a team of 8 engineers, delivering 3 products on time". Numbers make your impact concrete and memorable.
Proofread Thoroughly
Spelling mistakes and grammatical errors signal carelessness. Read your resume aloud, use spell-check, and ask a friend to review it before submitting.
Use a Clean, Professional Format
Stick to standard fonts (Arial, Calibri, Georgia), consistent spacing, and clear section headings. Avoid heavy graphics or tables that confuse ATS parsers.
Include Your LinkedIn & Portfolio
Add a link to your LinkedIn profile and any relevant portfolio, GitHub, or Behance page. It gives recruiters more context beyond the one-page document.
